A Better Me

When I know the time is right and the reward is worth the effort, I go for my next goal—whether it’s starting a new story, tackling a professional project, or simply doing something that helps me grow.

Once I commit to something new, I give it my best. Most of the time, I finish what I start—because there’s nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishing something that matters.

I’ve learned that achievements happen one small step at a time. As I move forward, I lean into the lessons I’ve gathered along the way. Before I start a new challenge, I ask myself a few tough—but necessary—questions:

  • What does reaching this goal mean to me?

  • Is now the right time?

  • What might get in the way?

The most important thing is to keep going. Don’t settle for the status quo or let setbacks stall your progress. When you stop reaching for something new, you risk getting stuck—standing still instead of moving forward.

It’s okay if your goal takes time. Progress, no matter how slow, beats going backward. And when I’m almost done with something big, I always tell myself: “I feel like a horse that sees the barn.” That final stretch brings an extra push of energy.

If you ever feel like giving up, lean on someone—a friend, a family member, a voice of encouragement. You might be surprised how ready your support team is to cheer you on. Because crossing that finish line, however long it takes, is always worth it.

Right now, I’m feeling that “horse seeing the barn” excitement. I’m in the final stage of publishing Copycat, the fifth book in my Arcade Games series! I can’t wait to share this newest adventure with readers. Stay tuned—it’s almost here. Above is a sneak peek at some cover art for Copycat

In the end, it’s all about becoming a better me. And I hope, wherever you are on your journey, you’re becoming a better you too.
